The Africa Initiative aims to increase Africa's presence at INSEAD and INSEAD's presence and relevance in Africa and other emerging markets, reinforcing our mission of creating a global mindset, learning from unfamiliar settings, and broadening our international network. We aim to be a catalyst for development in Africa, while leveraging the knowledge we gain to promote effective business practices in other regions
The key focus for the Africa initiative for the coming year is on getting more African participation into our tradehold degree programmes to increase diversity at INSEAD and also to place more INSEADers (African or not) into positions across Africa post-graduation
The other area of focus is engaging more closely with INSEAD alumni to build a robust pool of leadership and trusted business partners for various activities: invite leaders to participate in the classroom with EMBAs as live protagonists in a case study, mentor MBAs/EMBA, speakers at institutional events, case writing opportunities etc. and in general to support our activities with sponsorship and investment in scholarships. We will also be looking at engaging with alumni with Entrepreneurship interests, and we are in the process of creating these groups as virtual meeting places on INSEAD Connect
